The Class A uniform must be worn when traveling for insurance purposes. Seat belts must be worn by all riding in a vehicle. One parent can not transport one boy unless it his own son. Buddy rules apply.
Electronic Equipment
Electronic equipment (radios, tape players, CD players, Gameboy, etc.) are not allowed at troop activities. If brought, they will be confiscated and returned to the boys parents at the conclusion of the troop event. Boys may use use electronic equipment during transportation to and from the outing as long as that use is not disturbing to others.
WeekEnd Campouts
Food for campouts is paid by each boy. The money for a campout must be brought to the Monday troop meeting before a campout. This way the Scout serving as Grubmaster knows the number of participants he needs to buy for. The Scout that buys the food must stay within budget. All boys take turns buying food for the campouts. All receipts are turned into the Committee Chairman for payment. The Scout must be at the troop meeting the Monday night before a campout to be eligible to go on a campout. If there is a good reason for missing the meeting, call the Scoutmaster.
Long Term Camping/Week Long Summer Camp
We go to Lewis and Clark Scout Camp each summer. The week is usually set for the next year before we leave the camp. The total cost will be calculated as the camp gets closer. Payments are due to the Troop treasurer according to Sioux Council deadlines. If you find paying for camp difficult, there are scholarships available through the Order of Arrow or the troop for part of the cost of camp. Ask the Scoutmaster for a form. Check the calendar for the week scheduled for summer camp for the coming year.
Totin' Chip
A Scout is not allowed to use a knife with out a totin chip. All boys using or carrying a knife must have earned the totin chip and must have the totin chip with them. If they are using the knife in an unsafe manner, a corner of the card can be removed. If all four corners get removed, he must repeat the knife safety course to earn another totin' chip.
If he does not have a totin chip and has his knife out, he will be asked to put the knife away. Any problems with this policy could result in the confiscation of the knife and will be given to his parents.
A boy may have to repeat the knife safety course if the Scoutmaster feels it is necessary. Not following these rules could result in the loss of the privilege to carry a knife at outdoor events. The knife is a camp tool and should be reserved for outdoor events. Knives are not needed or allowed at troop meetings.
Firem'n Chit
A boy must earn the fireman chit to be allowed to start the campfire. He must have in his possession the Fireman chit. If a Scout conducts himself in an unsafe manner around the campfire or cooking stove, a corner of the card can be removed.
Any problems with policy could result in the loss of the privilege to start or tend the campfire. This is at the Scoutmaster's discretion.

No one associated with Troop 346 under the age of 21 will be allowed to smoke or use chewing tobacco while at a troop event.
